Large-capacity Offshore Facilities Construction Center is being built in Murmansk region. It is a part of a scale project Arctic LNG-2 of NOVATEK company. This center will serve for construction of marine facilities for production, storage and shipment of liquefied natural gas and stable gas condensate on GBS (gravity-based structures).

KONAR-Cimolai plant (Chelyabinsk, it is a part of KONAR Industrial group) shipped the first lot of metal structures for workshops of the Center topside facilities. According to the contract, total amount of metal structures will be about 71000 tons. The specialists of Chelyabinsk company and the company Velesstroy, general contractor, developed design documentation and enhanced efficiency of the project. As a result, metal consumption of facilities has decreased, bay cranes can be installed on different levels, and it will allow to use workshop space effectively. Strand jacks will be used for roofing installation, and it will reduce dates of project implementation and its cost.

Another important peculiarity is that metal structures come out of production in a ready-to-mount state because fire-proof coating is applied at the plant in Chelyabinsk.

Application of these technical solutions as well as modifications of the project designed by our company in cooperation with Velesstroy helped to decrease the amount of facilities and their metal consumption – Director of JV KONAR-Cimolai Petr Sechkin made a comment.

In 2017 KONAR JSC and NOVATEK PJSC made an agreement for strategic partnership – partnership for localization of the equipment for application on LNG complexes process lines on sea-based platforms in the territory of the Russian Federation.

Since 2018 the companies that are a part of the KONAR Industrial group supply high pressure equipment for development of gas field of Yamal LNG project as well as metal structures with special requirements.
