Rostekhnadzor confirmed that the facility can produce high quality products according to industry standards.

The facility Modern Forging Technologies received a state license for the right to manufacture equipment for nuclear plants and storage facilities for nuclear materials, radioactive substances and radioactive waste.

This is the second industry certificate for MFT LLC which is a part of the foundry and forging division of KONAR Industrial Group. The first one was a certificate from the Russian Maritime Register of Shipping on the recognition of MFT as a manufacturer of forgings for marine engineering

Obtaining a license was commented by the Head of the Quality Department of MFT LLC Ilya Gurin:

– Since the launch of the facility in December 2020, this is already our second experience in obtaining state confirmation of MFT competencies. The license for the right to manufacture equipment for nuclear plants and storage facilities for nuclear materials, substances, waste is the most important document that opens up new prospects for production. The coverage of the forgings market is getting wider. We received an official conclusion from Rostekhnadzor that our facility is capable of producing forgings of any complexity with any characteristics according to the customer’s tasks. The license confirms that MFT meets all the requirements of the nuclear industry: it has a full range of necessary equipment, owns technologies that meet modern quality standards, technological preparation and is able to implement the most complex projects.

The licensing procedure at Rostekhnadzor lasted for a year. First, a package of documents was collected and submitted, and the necessary approvals were made. The second, most important and serious stage was the on-site audit of Rostekhnadzor inspectors. The inspectors checked absolutely everything, starting from the organization of the production cycle to the procedure for issuing technological documentation, its storage, and archiving. The entire life cycle of MFT was inspected. After the most thorough audit we received confirmation that we meet the requirements at the first attempt. It took some more time for the procedures of state review, registration, and in March we were given a license in hand. Now MFT can declare itself as a manufacturer of equipment for nuclear power plants throughout Russia.

In KONAR Industrial Group MFT LLC became the second facility after BVK foundry that received the right to manufacture equipment for the nuclear industry.

The license issued by the Ural Interregional Territorial Administration for Supervision of Nuclear and Radiation Safety of Rostechnadzor has a term of 10 years — until 2035. It is an important control point that allows MFT to manufacture products according to industry standards with quality confirmation to the highest requirements.
