Russian Electric Motors plant was launched in Chelyabinsk

An official ceremony of opening of the Russian Electric Motors plant (REM JSC) took place in the Stankomash Industrial park (Chelyabinsk). The company was established within the import-substituting performed by Transneft PJSC for arrangement of production of high-voltage electric motors in Russia. Project participants – Transneft PJSC (51%) and KONAR JSC (49%), technological partner – Italian company Nidec ASI S.p.A.

The President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin via video conference from Moscow and the Chairman of Council of Ministers of Italy Giuseppe Conte gave permission for launching the plant. The President of Transneft PJSC Nikolay Tokarev, the Chief Operation Officer of Nidec ASI S.p.A Stefano Zecchinato and the General Director of KONAR JSC Valery Bondarenko pressed a symbolic button, and the first electric motor of the plant was put into operation and brought to the nominal level of operation.

— Dear Vladimir Vladimirovich, I want to thank you for constant support and attention to our work — the President of Transneft PJSC addressed to Vladimir Putin. – Separate words of gratitude shall be expressed in address of the Government, the Ministry of Energy, the Ministry of Industry and Trade, our partners from KONAR, its General Director Valery Bondarenko, Italian partners from Nidec company and Mr. Zecchinato for persistent work and great contribution to implementation of this project.

The official ceremony of opening was attended by representatives of the Ministry of Energy, the Governor of Chelyabinsk region Boris Dubrovsky, Chief of Chelyabinsk Evgeniy Teftelev, vice presidents and heads of enterprises of Transneft PJSC system.

REM JSC is an advanced high-quality production, the plant is equipped with more than 200 items of modern equipment, 83 of which are unique high-precision equipment. The volume of production is estimated up to 300 high-voltage electric motors per year with the capacity up to 14 MW with possible widening of product range up to 45 MW.

— It is a plant of a complete production cycle — the General Director of REM JSC said, — from design to assembly and testing of ready items. In the long term we will be able to cover demands of companies of Transneft PJSC system with this type of products. Moreover, we are ready to enter to only Russian, but foreign market as well.

As Chief Engineer Dmitry Sokolov said, the target to concentrate in REM JSC all advanced technological solutions in machine building sphere was set.

— One of the global leaders, Nidec ASI, Italy, was an assistant and transfer of technologies. These technologies are the basis of design documentation of the electric motors range, — he said.

“We have been actively working with Italian industrialists since 2004,” Valery Bondarenko said. — During this time, about 200 contracts have been successfully implemented. On a long-term and mutually beneficial basis, there is cooperation with 20 companies from Italy. In his message to the Federal Assembly, the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin stressed that technological lag, dependence means a decrease in the security and economic capabilities of the country. In the areas of industrial production that are formed here, on the territory of the Stankomash industrial park, together with the Transneft company, we create such competencies that allow us to determine our future ourselves. We are ready for any challenges and solving any problems.
