The industrial site was visited by applicants entering the university for Metallurgy program.

KONAR and South Ural State University (SUSU) have partnership relations. In 2023, KONAR became the university’s base site for preparing specialists for foundry production. Targeted study in System Engineering of Metallurgical Technologies profile is adapted to the needs of BVK foundry, which is a member of KONAR Industrial Group, and is maximally integrated into production.

Guidance counseling with school students and graduates is the key to building a strong and long-term interaction between the talented youth and the facilities of the Industrial Group, – said Aleksandra Grebenshchikova, Head of Innovative and Educational Environment Development Center of KONAR JSC. – This allows us to take children under our patronage when they enter universities and technical high schools, take them for industrial practice and, as a result, employ motivated specialists who know well the peculiarities of our production. This is a long, but strategically promising way of bringing up young personnel.

During the visit applicants saw the production in the shops of KONAR JSC, RDC-KONAR LLC and MFT LLC. And then the Youth Council of KONAR Industrial Group organized an intellectual game for future engineers, the purpose of which was to develop and present an industrial product that is popular in Russia. Elena Kopylova and Pavel Kochnev, representatives of the CAD/MICS Department, were invited for professional judging, and they chose the most studied project. The first place was taken by the team that proposed to create a modern small-size screw-cutting lathe for metal works for schools and secondary professional education institutions.

Participants of the visit and intellectual game were given memorable prizes, and the most active applicants received an invitation to internship at KONAR.
