The Minister of Energy of the Russian Federation visited REM facility in Stankomash Industrial park

Aleksandr Novak, the Minister of Energy of the Russian Federation, together with the Governor of Chelyabinsk region Aleksey Teksler and the President of Transneft PJSC Nikolay Tokarev visited the plant “Russian Electric Motors”, evaluated production and had conversation with employees.

REM plant was founded by Transneft PJSC together with KONAR JSC in Chelyabinsk city. Nidec ASI S.p.A. (Italy), one on the global leaders in production of high voltage electric motors, was involved as a partner. The plant was launched on the 24^th of October, 2018. The President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin participated in launching via video conference from Moscow.

The aim of creation of this facility was to localize manufacturing of power-efficient electric motors in the territory of the Russian Federation with transfer of advanced global technologies, provision of strategic and technological safety of the Russian Federation due to decrease of dependence on import products. The facility is one of eight residents of Stankomash Industrial park created upon the initiative of the Head of KONAR Industrial group Valery Bondarenko.

– The main activities of REM plant are design and manufacturing of electric motors for main lines for transportation of oil and petrochemicals; design and manufacturing of various types of electric machines for industry and transportation, — Technical Director of REM JSC Dmitry Sokolov says. – Now we manufacture about 20 types of motors. This year we entered into the agreement for supply of traction electric machines and electric motors for electric locos. We successfully satisfy needs of Transneft JSC in motors for pump units, so we consider additional projects: motors for Azipod systems of icebreakers, wind power generators.   

Location of the plant in the territory of Stankomash Industrial park provides for creation of the unified process chain which includes several machinery facilities producing parts and equipment for oil and gas industry of Russia.

– The plant is very modern, I am impressed, – the Minister Aleksandr Novak noted. – Clean technologies, safety, esthetics. One can easily feel that the perspectives are good and the products are top requested at the market.
